A Conversation With Christopher Everett

Today, we have a very special episode for our listeners. We sit down with the writer and director of Wilmington on Fire, a documentary that tells the story of the 1898 massacre in Wilmington, North Carolina. We ask Everett about his journey as a Black filmmaker from Laurinburg, North Carolina. We talk about the events of 1898 shown in Wilmington on Fire, and we discuss what Everett has in store for us in his future films – like the sequel he’s currently working on, Wilmington on Fire II.

Produced by Coastal Youth Media and GRITS. Hosted by Brealyn Freeman, Jonaiyah Jordan, and Arabia Earth.
